Final Blog

I think the most valuable part of the blogging experience was being able to share our thoughts with our classmates and then being able to comment on them, so that we could make our essays better. The blog helped me throughout the semester, but i think the biggest thing was being able to comment and continually correct the things we posted on them. The thing I am most proud of this semester is my Final Essay which was The Effective Steroids have on Teenagers.

Intro

Steroids are very serious issue facing the world today. The problem is that the use of these harmful drugs is increasing every year. The worst part about this is that the use of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs is increasing every year by teenagers. The latest study shows that 3.5 percent of high school athletes admit to using steroids, which doesn't seem like alot, but is actually as 67% increase from 1991. We need to stop this, we have to teach and help them with this problem. We need to test in high schools around the country to stop kids from harming their bodies. If we don't do this, the problem will only increase and more and more kid will be harming their bodies.

How should I start the introduction to capture the readers attention and make them want to read the rest of the paper.

Testing in high School

Testing High School athletes is a necessity now a days because the use of steroids in high school is increasing. In the latest study shows that 3.5 percent of high School athletes admitted to taking steroids, even though that seems like so little, it is actually a 67% increase since 1991. The big problem is that schools think they can't do anything about it, so instead of trying to solve and fix this problem. The main excuse the schools are using, is that they can't afford the $50 for each steroid test.
We buy, idolize, and worship these athletes because they are big, strong, and fast. We want to be just like them and make millions of dollars like them. What kid doesn't want all the stuff a pro athlete have like fame, popularity, and most of all money.
What kid doesn't have the dream to be a professional athlete and make millions of dollars. It used to be if a kid wasn't strong he would lift weights, to become bigger and stronger, but now a days we have resorted to cheating by using these performance enhancing drugs. Kids are prone to doing this because they see their role models, and people who make millions taking these drugs.
We need to help these kids by informing them about the risk of using these drugs as well as do something to stop them, the way to stop them is simple, that way is to test for steroids in high school.
