The fight to save kids from using steriods

Not only are kids worrying about wins and loses more today, but they are willing to put there life at risk by using steroids. These life's are being altered by the use of steroids in high schools. This article gives you an example of kids who lost their life, because they wanted to bulk and become professional athletes.
A lot of the time the use of these drugs are being used right in front of coaches and other administrative figures. They are being used in locker rooms, wright rooms, and even high school cafeterias and hallways.
Many people say that until tragedy strikes these kids on someone they know they won't realize that affects steroids will have on you. This is truly sad.
In a town in Florida they are having drug test, so that they know their kids aren't going to be harmed by steroids. They are not doing this to take something away from the kids even though they may thinks so, they are doing this to protect the kids.

Steriod use in High School

The kid taking the risk on using steroids in High School is increasing which is sad because of the affects that steroids have on your body. They do things both to males and females these are the affects it will have on males: Reduced sperm count,Impotence, Increase in nipple and breast size (gynecomastia), Enlarged prostate. Theses are the things they do to women:Reduced breast size,Enlarged clitoris, Increase in facial and body hair,Deepened voice, Menstrual problems. As you can see it does great harm to both men and women.
The burgeoning sports drug scandal linked to a Burlingame nutritional supplement lab magnifies the concerns of high school coaches, administrators and medical experts. They fear that the association of elite athletes with this situation could influence teenagers, many of whom covet college scholarships and are emboldened by a sense of invincibility. This is a bad thing, and will only hurt kids in the long run.
Today many doctors recommend that you don't even use another popular substance known as creatine. Creatine helps you recover quicker and helps intensify work outs. Even though there are no studies that prove creatine has a long term effect. Another big problem is that teenagers think they are invincible to sickness and think they will be unaffected by these drugs.

Cell Phone Blockers

We our making and thinking of new technology every day and one of our newest things is a cell phone blocker. This allows you to be cut off in the middle of a conversation. This is a good and bad thing. Even though they are illegal in the United States of America, they are going to find there way here. I believe they are bad because they can interrupt you when you are on important call, for example if someone you now is sick or in a serious accident and you are trying to get information on them, it can interrupt you and you can miss very important information. But on the other hand it could be a good thing, for example if you are being annoyed, when you are somewhere you can instantly shut the person conversation off, and get back to being peaceful.

dangers of steroids to young athletes

Steroids in high school is a growing problem and should be talked about more. The issue starts form professionals sports because kids look up to professionals athletes as their role models. So the kids feel that if it is OK for professional athletes to take steroids, it is OK for them to take steroids. When the truth is that it is not OK to take steroids at any level of sports that you are playing, because you are not only cheating yourself but you are also cheating the game that so many people love.
A big reason why high school athletes take steroids is the drive to be the best they can be and the easiest way to get there. Another big reason for this is that kids are being pressured by coaches and there parents to be the best they can be either to help the team or trying to get a scholarship to play the sport in college. Also kids are playing the sport year round and need to have stamina all year round. Kids play a 20-25 games high school season and then play a 50 game summer season, which really can take a toll on your body.
Coaches and parents need to talk to there kids about the affects that steroids and other performance enhancing drugs can have on your body later in life. For example in a sport like you always here the coaches our always telling their players to get in the weight room and become bigger and stronger. In this article this coach said he found him self telling his athletes, they need to gain strength and size. This coach along with many others that believe that coaches and parents all need to talk to young athletes about taking steroids.

Basketball VS.Baseball

For my comparison essay I chose to compare basketball v. baseball because I play both sports and love to play them. I will write about the things they have in common and the things thta make each of theses sports unique. I think that writing this comparison essay will help other people understand the true meaning of what these sports really are. This essay could help someone decide whether or not a person wants to play a sport.
I will us the flip-flop method to discuss these two very great sports. By writing this way it will give the reader a view of both sides and it will be easy for the reader to read.

Mid Term

For my mid term research project i will be looking at the affetcs performence enhancing drugs has on athletes. I will concentrate on how it affects the major leagues. I will also discuss the effects performance enhancing drugs on the athletes body, after he finish playing. I chose this topic because it is an issue thta we are facing right now and something that has been in the news recently, especially now that the Mitchell report has come out. I got this idea on wednesday, when we were looking up possible topics in the library.

Comparison Blog

During class we have learned about the Flip Flop method and the block method. After reading several article I believe that you can use both effectively, but I like the flip flop method the best. Using the flip flop method method you can give the reader information about both of them in a sequence of every other one which kinds helps the reader remember about the previous method. I also think the block method can be used effectively but it is a bit more difficult to remember what you read, because you may be reading about one topic for 3 or 4 paragraphs and then switch to another topic for another 3 or 4 paragraph's. I feel that it is harder to remember what you read that way.
